Projects
Secure fixing of temporary structures in a public place
Client
Commissioned by the Victoria and Albert Museum, London
Brief
To work with a number of parties and develop a base plate to support a temporary (6 months) Garden installation in the heart of the museum which needed to be installed during opening hours
Challenges
Working in an historic site around the general public and with no time for a trial run. All pieces had to fit perfectly and installation time was limited to 3 hours as we were working in conjunction with other contractors on a tight schedule.
Solution
Bespoke base plate was created to work in harmony with the design team requirements. It was essential that the base plate could be dug in and buried under the topsoil and turf to create a seamless lawn underneath the installation. The Spirafix Team carried out the installation, working alongside, and in conjunction with, a range of project managers and installers.
