New event structure strap a winner
Wednesday 3rd August 2016
We recently had a request from De Boer Structures for a solution that would enable them to use their current base plates (with out making any changes to them) with our Spirafix Ground Anchors. We specified and tested our new base plate strap which is a neat and efficient, reusable option. We had good client feedback - ''We had great support from the team at Spirafix with a recent, quite specific, challenge. We needed a solution for anchoring one of our large temporary structures that wouldn't require any changes to our current base plate stock. Spirafix designed a simple but effective strap which neatly fixed on to our current bases and enabled us to use Spirafix Ground Anchors to achieve…
Neat new bracket already popular
Friday 1st July 2016
Working in conjunction with Actavo Events our Technical Director has produced yet another neat new bracket. It's another through slot bracket, the concept of which continues to be popular due to its ease of use. But this new bracket is used together with a 'locking pin'. So place the bracket on the ground in the direction of of your tethering or ratchet strap, hammer the anchor down through the slot, tension the strap and hammer the locking pin down through the slot. Simple and effective for 50mm anchors and available on our website (search Products, 50mm anchors).
Ground socket a hit for primary school
Thursday 9th June 2016
Dallas Pierce Quintero approached the team at Spirafix Ground Anchors as they needed a safe and neat solution for a stunning primary school art installation of swivelly fish - so Technical Director Nick Land designed a fantastic ground socket specifically for the job. The ground sockets were galvanised to match perfectly with the flagpoles which were securely connected to the bases or 'ground sockets'. 'The ground sockets proved very successful' Nick said, 'Once we had the positions accurately and precisely marked out we simply installed the ground sockets using our hydraulic post driver. In total we fitted 28 sockets for the flag poles in less than 4 hours. I'm pleased with the product - and with the finished moving…

Monday 23rd May 2016
Held in place using Spirafix Ground Anchors the newly opened Elytra Filament Pavilion creates a stunning temporary addition to the beautiful V&A - to help celebrate Engineering Season. The Pavilion is made up of 40 hexagonal pieces which have all be robotically fabricated from a mixture of transparent glass fibre and black carbon fibre. The design was a collaboration but at its centre is the reference to Elytra - the fibrous structure of beetle's fore wings. The main stanchions are held in place using Spirafix Ground Anchors in conjunction with a bespoke base plate. Take a look at more details and photographs of the project on the V&A website here - V&A ELYTRA - FILAMENT PAVILION Created by Achim Menges with…
